Adapted from the eponymous novel by Frank Schätzing, the series depicts the struggle of humankind against an unknown swarm intelligence that lives in the depths of the sea. That's also why some stuff is geoblocked.Īlso, a lot of this content is also uploaded on youtube, sometimes by these stations themselves of (illegally I assume) by other people. The Swarm ( German: Der Schwarm) is a German co-produced science fiction television series directed by Barbara Eder, Luke Watson and Philipp Stölzl. But you see, it is actually not free content. Sure, whether it should be a forced fee is debatable, so is the amount itself, but I can't even for a second watch German private TV stations anymore. But now I really appreciate an ad-free quality content delivering service like this. (ARD has some politcal shows as well that I recommend: Hart aber Fair, Anne Will, Maischberger)įor the longest time I cursed the GEZ (monthly fee every german household has to pay for TV and radio, even if they don't have a TV or radio). For political talk shows I recommend Markus Lanz and Maybrit Illner. In the ZDF Mediathek I recommend the content from Funk (which is more targeted at the younger generation (not kids, I mean young adults) with popular youtubers), as well as TerraX for nature and science documentaries, Sketch History for comedy history content (hilarious), Leschs Kosmos for sciency stuff, Heute Show for comedy news, Die Deutschen for a very detailed and brilliant series about german history, and my personal favorite Aktenzeichen XY (a true crime show with real recent and old cases asking for the viewers help). IN general, google Mediathek and you'll find all the German TV stations' online content. Similarly, I can suggest the ARD Mediathek. In fact it is the reason why I pay for a VPN service, lol. I am a German living abroad and I use this website every single day.
