If the audio input only set to your headset or camera mic, all you will get is your voice. But one thing-make sure the Record System Audio slider is on before you attempt to start recording a Zoom session. Never saw enough of a pattern to write down the algorithm. But its a try-this and then try-that approach. When I have to record a Zoom session with Snagit I do a brief recording at the beginning of the meeting and then stop it, and then play the snippet to see if the audio is there, then if it is, I restart Snagit recording for the rest of the meeting. Bad news is that I can't tell you the recipe, it my case it was just trying things to see what works. By randomly trying things like the order that I open Zoom and Snag it, and what the Snagit settings are before I open Zoom, I seem to get it to work most of the time. I did not find a deterministic answer, although the potential causes of the problem seemed to multiply as I researched it including issues at the level of the system audio board. Perhaps killing the Snagit editor is the answer for that?Īny general pointers would be appreciated as I try to make the Zoom/Snagit combination work. I fell like I am floundering with trying to find the right combination of Snagit settings for audio that will let me easily record a snippet of a Zoom call, *with audio* and then gracefully stop and finalize so that Zoom can get the audio from my mic. ![]() So it seems Snagit was holding my headset audio device exclusively and then not releasing the mic after the Snagit recording is stopped an finalized. After some hurried flailing, I killed the Snagit editor and my audio stream from my mic to Zoom returned. When I was asked a question Zoom and needed to respond, my headset mic was not working with Zoom. ![]() I recorded part of a session today, stopped recording and finalized the video in Snagit, but left Snagit running. ![]() I can't tell what makes it fail in some cases.Ī related problem is that sometimes, perhaps all the time with certain Snag it settings, Snagit captures my headset mic and will not release it for the ongoing Zoom session, making me mute on Zoom even though my Zoom mic is not muted. What setting am I missing? Sometimes the recordings have perfect audio. I set the Snagit record session to record the system audio, and I can hear the participants on the Zoom call, but after I save the video, it has often no sound whatsoever. I can't seem to find the appropriate recipe for recording Zoom calls with Snagit.
